CURATION_STATUS_DISABLED is an enumerated variable that the front end is supposed to do something with but hasn't been programmed any instructions for that response. It's most likely reserved for debugging prior to merging with the master code base. Basically, someone forgot to test this edge case before implementing an update. I wouldn't think Curation status would ever be disabled. Apparently neither did the front end developers.
