I don't think that anyone who is a true alcoholic has any question about whether or not they are an alcoholic.
Alcoholism shouldn't be an excuse you can turn to just because you're a shitty person with a shitty life.
I'm not questioning your own alcoholism. I believe your story and wholeheartedly support you in your journey. But that doesn't mean that everyone with a shit life is an alcoholic. They don't get to pull that dirty little trigger without a bit of a journey themselves.
I've started seeing lots of articles on Medium recently about alcoholism that I find repulsive. Going 6 months without drinking after you decided you were an alcoholic because you drank 3-6 drinks a night is not a journey of discovery worth sharing with the world.
I really didn't want to post an article about my alcoholism but after seeing the amount of bullshit I feel like it's my duty to set the record straight and actually try to help people.
