I had a similar experience when going from back-end to front-end. I too thought the jump would be straightforward but it wasn't. I've grown fairly addept on both but I stlil prefer working with back-end code over front-end.

Although, I have been playing around with Flutter a lot recently and I really like it a lot so I'm slowly coming around to liking front-end as much as back.
