I wrote an article about the possibility of the absence of free will. This is a pretty good argument you propose, and I'm not necessarily debating it, although I do consider myself Christian. I like thought experiments like this. Anyone who is religious should, as we are not called to follow blindly but to ask questions and continue seeking knowledge. Here's my article on free will.
