I’ve been playing music for over 25 years. I wasn’t gifted superior playing abilities at a young age, but I’ve always had an ear for notes and tone. My journey with music has been long and hard fought; nearly impossible.
Recording Is My Favorite
I’ve been recording music for 20 of those years. This too was slow going and painful. I went through the obligatory stage of sharing terrible music with friends and family. I was always correcting my mistakes and upgrading my equipment. Each recording brought a clean slate to try my hand at greatness one more time. And each failure taught me valuable lessons I never forgot.
Glimpsing Greatness
About 15 years ago, I started getting good enough to say I was a talented musician. I played with some bands during that time and recorded a debut album in 2008 with my band, Futants.
The album was met with mixed reviews; more positive than not. It wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but we were proud of our accomplishment, and I could add a 4th album to my discography.
A lot of shit happened between that album and this article. But that is outside the scope of this story, so I’ll paraphrase a bit.
