Thanks for the response, Adonis. I'm currently not working as a developer although I still mess around with my own coding projects and I've been learning a lot about Flutter recently.
I've talked to a couple companies and recruiters that have reached out on LinkedIn but I haven't really put forth any concerted effort to try and get back into professional development. One reason is that after 4 years of sobriety, I relapsed during the pandemic lock-down so I've been focusing on my recovery for the past 8 months. I work as a customer support representive from home making $12/hour which pays the bills and keeps me fed. Barely.
Returning to development as a career is something I want to do and I know I can do it. I've just been waiting for the right time. And I know there will never be a perfectly obvious time to do that but my recovery has to come first. Without that, everything else falls into the abyss.
