The reason I hate those articles is that it perpetuates the idea that in order to succeed and be happy we should seek whatever path leads to obtaining millions of dollars.

I find that offensive and think it’s an unproductive waste of very talented and passionate people’s time.

Like you said, money does matter. We do need it. We just don’t need all of it. Our happiness does not scale proportionately with our wealth.
